A fundraiser will be held to benefit 8 year old Ciara Griffin, who is battling cancer, at the Fairport VFW on Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m.

Ciara and her mother Diane Griffin were guests on News 8 at Sunrise Friday.

Ciara was diagnosed with Stage IV Burkitts Lymphoma/Leukemia in March. Because 90 percent of her bone marrow has been replaced by these lymphoma cells, she is regarded as having Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL).

The fundraiser is the collaboration of commuity members and the Italian American Coalition for Kids (IACK) to help raise money for Ciara’s medical costs. There will be live music, food and drink specials, children’s activities and a merchandise raffle.

Tickets are $25, children 12 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased in Fairport at Donnelly’s Public House and Mulconry’s Irish Pub, Flaherty’s Three Flags Inn in Macedon and the Fairport Village Inn.

The Fairport VFW is located at 300 Macedon Center Road in Fairport.
